Dr. Ashaki Warren, MD is a General Psychiatrist and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist board certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Warren graduated Highest Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology in engineering in 2003 and Columbia University for Premedical Studies in 2008. She graduated from Morehouse School of Medicine as a 4-year Merit Scholar in 2012 where she was also awarded the Curtis Parker Research Day Award for presenting research on Understanding Depression in African American Women through the Atlanta Clinical Translation Institute.
She completed her psychiatry residency training at University of Cincinnati where she provided research analysis to understand quantitative predictive factors for suicide, participated in Ohio Mental Health Advocacy at the state capitol, and participated in community National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) events. She completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) where she served as chief resident child psychiatrist in 2016-2017. While at CCHMC, she conducted clinical research utilizing artificial intelligence to predict clinical violence risk in adolescents. She was part of an integrated team to analyze and respond to onset of local suicide occurrences amongst adolescents. While at CCHMC participated in a trauma supervision group for child-parent psychotherapy providers to better understand the importance of generational trauma as part of treating a child.
Dr. Ashaki Warren was raised in Atlanta, GA and currently resides in the community. Dr. Warren can relate to her clients separate from her identity as a psychiatrist; as she is also a mother of two children, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Dr. Warren provides time during her assessments for you to feel safe sharing your concerns and will take the time to understand you prior to introducing medications. Dr. Warren works with families to allow parents and caregivers to be an active part of the healing process. Dr. Warren meets people where they are in their journey to mental health wellness.
The process of considering psychiatric treatment that may include medications for yourself or your child can be a scary process for the first time. It involves trust that your doctor is both knowledgeable and compassionate in order to have a successful treatment outcome.
